BTEC Level 2: Unit 6 |
This unit's objective was to design an advert and logo for a product that I designed for a company named Innovate.
This was my advert for one of my products I was designing. The product was a nerve based virtual reality gaming system, where it reads the nerve responses in the brain to allow for the player to play the games.
The advert was intended for the teenage/ young adult demographic(16-21). The advert stood out and was unique in it’s own way, there was little text as the advert was advertising to the teenage audience. The advert also consisted mainly of images, this is to appeal to the young adults and teenagers who don’t really want to be confused by how it works and just want to know what the product does. The font I used for the advert was a simple serif choice as it’s appealing to a fairly young age but isn’t too simple so it’s would appeal to more of a teenage audience. The advert design fit’s the brief as it advertises the product, it uses a bitmap creation software(I used paint.net), It was of good resolution and reasonable file size.

This is the logo I designed using Microsoft Expression Design for the company Innovate which asked me to advertise a product for a certain demographic such as a young teenage demographic.
The logo was intended for a younger audience(7-15 years old). The logo was colourful and stood out as an obvious logo to the younger audience. I believe the logo was designed well for the chosen demographics as it is colourful, choice of font is easy to understand and read, the font size fits well into the background and the contrast of the text fits with the background colour. The product was of good resolution and was created in a vector drawing program. My advert was made in a 1920 x 1080 full HD to allow a great image on either TV,computer and even look good on magazine.

Copyright laws
Problems I encountered with copyright laws only affected gathering images for the assets for my advert which I used to inspire my drawings. Nothing really affected my final design choice for either my advert nor logo, there were no problems concerning copyright laws with my final designs. Some of the images were lower quality than some images that were copyrighted. In order to get past copyright problems I used advance search to gather images not under copyright and are allowed to be used and edited, I could have also used cc-search to gather from other websites to get a better selection.
